Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. A strong wife, a valiant wife. The reason he was hiding is so this harvest would not be discovered by the Midianites. Some say God was using humor to joke with Gideon. I am not sure. He may have been calling Gideon as He saw him to be not as he was. God can see us in our finished state. He knows our end and what we can become. He calls us to be all that He has ordained and anointed us to be. Ladies, please encourage your husbands, do not tear down. If you say he is worthless around the house he will live up to your expectations. If you praise him for the small things he does he will want to do more. Watch his reaction if you brag on him to some one else. I want you to see something incredible.
Rom 8:28-30 NKJV

How many have heard or read this verse before raise your hands? He called, He justified, He glorified. It does not say He will justify but that He has glorified. It does not say He will glorify but that He has glorified. He sees the finished work. I refer ti myself and others in here sometimes as sinners because we still sin but please understand something. We see people worshipping the angel of the Lord and you will see a shift in the wording in just a moment. The angel said the Lord is with you. The man of valor said if the Lord is with me.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. Another example of His love is His message. The fact that we have intact, in our hands, God’s message of redemption is incredible. After all the attacks all the executions of those who either read it or possessed it and were martyred for it is incredible. It speaks of God’s undying and unwavering affection for His people and His desire at all cost to communicate that message to His people. Part of this is that God will not sit idly by and watch His children destroy themselves. It is worth noting that God said He was with Gideon not with Israel. Gideon said that God had forsaken Israel when it was Israel that had forsaken God

Then the LORD turned to him and said, "Go with the strength you have and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!"

Don’t complain about what strength you don’t have, serve the Lord with the strength you do have. How often we think about what gift we don’t have and what strength we don’t have. God is looking for us to use the gifts we do have, the strengths we do have to serve Him. You may feel inadequate for something the Lord is asking you to do. In part that is a good thing, as long as it doesn’t keep you from doing what He told you to do it. The Lord is the one who is adequate. Gideon is really asking, God do you know what you are doing? God always know what He is doing. Notice that God did not answer the questions but gave him something to do.
